The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, in the field of wildlife research, teaching and training.

WORK DESCRIPTION

| 1) | Project Scientist-III | The work involves assessment of biodiversity in the study area in Jharkhand and preparation of Integrated Wildlife Management Plan. The project scientist will implement the project activities, coordinate with the project team members, and ensure timely completion of project deliverables. The candidate will be required to conduct field research, analyse data and write report. The candidate will also be responsible for geospatial analysis and mapping of wildlife corridors in the project area. The candidate must be self-driven, be able to work as an independent researcher and should be highly motivated. |
| 2) | Senior Project Associate (Ecology) | The work involves assessment of biodiversity in study area in Jharkhand and preparation of Integrated Wildlife Management Plan. The selected candidate will implement the objectives of the project by carrying out field research and prepare interim and final report |
| 3) | Senior Project Associate (GIS) | The GIS specialist will be responsible for all geo-spatial analyses and assessment; database creation and maintenance of several thematic layers related to the project. Also the selected candidate will implement the objectives of the project by carrying out field research and prepare interim and final report. |
| 4) | Project Associate-I | The selected candidates will carry out field investigations on the assessment of wildlife values; assist data entry, data analysis, report writing and all other related works assigned by the project investigator. |
IMPORTANT POINTS
1) The selection of the candidates will be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as
decided by the Interview Committee. All original documents should be produced at the time of interview. The
decision of the Institute’s Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, work experience, acceptance or rejection of
application will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from
any individual.
2) The candidates are required to submit their completed application forms in PDF format, with accompanying
attachments, by email (with subject line: “Application for the post of _____________________________________________in
Preparation of Integrated Wildlife Action Plan comprising of mitigation and compensating measures with
landscape approach of entire forest area in Hazaribagh Wildlife Forest Division, Hazaribagh West Forest
Division and Koderma Forest Division in the impact zone of the Koderma Detour of DFCCIL projectT to
[email protected] not later than 1700 hrs on 09.09.2021:
3) Application form need to be typed according to the prescribed format and must be accompanied by (a) Scanned
copies of educational qualifications, (b) Scanned copies of experience letter/ certificates and (c) A concise statement
of purpose (SOP) with approximately 300-500 words (in single spacing and 12-point font). The (SOP) should be
compulsorily attached with the application stating the purpose clearly for applying to this position.
Incomplete applications will be rejected. There is no specified format for the SOP.
4) Send separate applications while applying for multiple posts.
5) The applications received after the deadline will be rejected.
6) The essential, desirable qualifications and SOP will be used for shortlisting the candidates for online interview.
7) The shortlisted candidates will be notified (through email and website notification) for online personal interview by
16.09.2021. The interview will be held on 20.09.2021. from 1000 hrs onwards. The selection will be made based on
the online personal interview scheduled on 20.09. 2021..
8) At the time of verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to
wilfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, his/her candidature will not be considered.
9) The positions advertised are purely temporary/ contractual for the project period only and will stand abolished after
completion of the project.
10) The tenure in the project will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations.
11) Relaxation in Age will be given as per Govt. of India norms
12) Director, WII reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the
candidate or for any other reason thereof.
